on every single birthday rhodey always wakes tony up with a megaphone saying “WAKE UP LOSER IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY” and always records the reactions, and Tony always falls out of bed every single time and screams at Rhodey to quit doing that but Rhodey grins
“I’m your family, it’s what we do.” And so Tony smiles and asks what the day holds because “I’m a very special person, Rhodey, I deserve only the finest of wines and chocolates and cheese–”
But Rhodey just snorts and says they’re going grocery shopping so Tony gets the most garbage foods and Rhodey makes him go through the drive-thru at a fast food place in his fanciest car because it’s funny.
They watch some of Tony’s favorite movies and ignore everything about the day until Pepper comes in with her tasteful-as-ever gifts while Rhodey whines that all he got Tony was half a t-shirt and some new socks because Tony never buys new socks.
This is where the fun begins. Pepper, Rhodey, and Tony get their favorite music turned on, grab a spatula or spoon or whatever, and start sliding. They sing all the lyrics and slide across the floors (waxed a week previously, they don’t want too much slide) and laugh as Pepper loses balance and nearly crashes into paintings or furniture or whatever is in the way now.
They end it with dinner. Rhodey orders the most garbage pizza he can, with anchovies and banana peppers and red onions and it’s just so gross but Tony eats it every single time because he may be many things, but he’s not a little bitch.
Then Pepper gets out her special chocolate ice cream that tastes kind of bitter because it’s like 76% cacao beans or something and it’s Tony’s absolute favorite. They open more presents, and it’s really nice.
Tony loves his family that he’s made.

And Tony misses them bitterly, stuck on Titan with no way to know whether his family is alive or dead.

About the Marvel situation… (beware, spoilers)
So since I’ve been back on social media (i left to avoid spoilers, y'know) I’ve seen MCU fans running around like headless chickens making theories looking like Anderson after Sherlock fell and I’ve come across the most popular one yet.
Basically everyone, i mean everyone who died was sucked into the soul gem so they’re not technically dead but they’re gonna go on a sort of afterlife adventure??? I can’t say much about this though since I’ve never read the comics. I also read somewhere that exactly half of the major characters being dead is an argument supporting the theory which got me thinking: did people actually forget that half of them are dead because half of the FUCKING UNIVERSE IS?! Seriously, i know them being dead shocked you, but may I remind you that 3.5 billion people are too? and that’s just humans.
What if they’re all, hear me out, just… dead?
No soul gem crap, no tricky trick: just dead.
Like, uncle Ben dead, you know?
don’t get me wrong, a postmortem alternate gem universe adventure would be awesome, but whether they’re dead dead or apparently dead, they’re still coming back (at least those who were disintegrated. Loki and Heimdall are gone, can’t say I’m sure about Gamora and Vision though, since she’s the only character who’d have a reason to be in the soul gem and Shuri finished working on Vis just as her team was attacked) and you know why? Because of the simplest reason: what the fuck are the heroes supposed to do in part two, then? Avenge their lost friends when Thanos is nowhere to be found and doesn’t plan on coming back for a long ass time? Why kill him? Why would they go on a suicide mission that would bring nothing good while the world is falling apart and there’s order to bring when they could just give in to the curiosity of finding out what the barrel of a gun tastes like?
No, the point of part two is bringing the other half of the universe back. It’s about fixing everything and shoving a fucking axe up Thanos’ ass once they’re done.
That’s why those who were disintegrated won’t stay dead for long, because if they aren’t supposed to come back then there’s no plot in the first place.
So I’m not worried about Peter, or Strange, or Quill, or Drax, or Mantis, or Bucky, or Tchalla, or Wanda, or Groot or Sam much more than I’m worried about the fate of rest of the universal population.
But when Steve and Bucky reunited in Wakanda and they thought they could finally be together, they killed Bucky in front of Cap; when Tchalla was helping Okoye getting up telling her that it was “no place to die” he crumbled to dust the next second, when we prepared for the characters that were already doomed before the movie, they killed all the others and left alive the ones we presumed destined to die
And that sort of got me thinking:
by what I’ve seen of the Russo brothers…
shouldn’t we worry about those who are left…?

Post Infinity War Headcannon
After Thanos wipes out everyone with his snap, the ones who were dusted were transfered to their personal heaven.
Sam would have Riley back safe and sound, occasionally choosing to go on missions with Steve and Natasha for the fun and adventure of it.
Drax would have his family back and would be able to let go of the hate he holds towards Thanos.
Mantis would be able to explore the universe and learn more about the people in it and how they feel, maybe even imagine what her family would have been like.
Groot would be able to play all the games he wants while Rocket takes him on adventures across the universe.
Starlord finds a quiet planet to live on with his healthy mother while being able to be in a loving relationship with Gamora, the Milano in the background for when he’s in the mood for a little trouble.
Bucky returns back to his Brooklyn apartment after WWII, both arms intact and no hydra in his head, living off the Captain America royalties with a healthy and happy Steve.
Gamora could build a relationship with Nebula, long before Thanos replaced any part of them with machinery, and could help orphaned children of all alien races find homes.
T'Challa could give the mantle of king back to his father and enjoy being the black panther with Nakia as he watches Shuri grow and create fantastic new technology for him.
Dr. Strange could operate again with fully healed hands and a rekindled relationship with Christine while still maintaining his magic.
Wanda could be with Vision again, leading a long and loving life together raising a family who love to spend time with their uncle Pietro.
Peter would move into avengers tower as a full fledged member and make sure that aunt may had everything she could ever want as he builds his father son relationship with Tony.
Just some nice thoughts to get through the grieving process.
